Konsep Pendidikan Karakter Perspektif Ulama Klasik dan Modern

Abstrak
Pendidikan karakter merupakan isu strategis dalam pengembangan Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI), terutama dalam menghadapi tantangan moral di era modern. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep pendidikan karakter dalam perspektif ulama klasik dan modern dalam bingkai PAI. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka, melalui analisis terhadap karya-karya tokoh seperti Al-Ghazali, Ibn Miskawayh, Ibn Khaldun, Syed M. Naquib al-Attas, Fazlur Rahman, dan Taha Jabir al-Alwani. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter dalam Islam memiliki landasan teologis dan filosofis yang kuat, mencakup dimensi spiritual, moral, dan sosial. Pemikiran ulama klasik menekankan pada konsep tazkiyatun nafs dan keteladanan, sedangkan pemikiran ulama modern lebih menekankan integrasi nilai dalam konteks global dan multikultural. Sintesis kedua perspektif tersebut menghasilkan paradigma pendidikan karakter Islam yang kontekstual dan transformatif. Kesimpulannya, konsep pendidikan karakter dalam Islam memiliki relevansi yang kuat dalam pengembangan PAI, khususnya melalui rekonstruksi kurikulum, penguatan peran guru, serta integrasi nilai adab dan akhlak sebagai inti pendidikan.
